The meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction and lunch was served by the committee in charge. Personals The village lost one of its much loved and highly esteemed residents last week in the person of Mrs. Elizabeth Molnar. The sympathy of the community goes out to Mr. Molnar and family in their sad loss. We welcome Mrs. Elsie Smyth back to the village after spending the last couple of months with her grandaughter Mrs. Joe Eagleson in London. Villagers were surprised when they awoke Sunday morning to near blizzard conditions. Very few people moved far from home with the exception of a few brave persons who walked to•visit the neighbours. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Kooy visited one day last week with Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Sutherland in Ilderton. 410 SCIENCE PROJECTS — Grade eight students at J.A.D. The president welcomed all ladies and conducted the business. Minutes were read and treasurers, report given. A cleaning bee is to be April 17. The programme com- mittee took charge. Dorothy Griffin from Good Will, London showed a film and talked of their work which was very interesting. Phyllis Tomes read a poem, "If Easter be not True." CGIT and Explorers The members of Granton CGIT and their leaders enter- tained Granton Explorers and their leader in the United Church basement on March 31. This took the form of an April Fool's party, the guests who were also the guinea pigs at this event, were told to come with their clothes on backward and to wear their hair with a ponytail in front. The evening started out with a chicken dinner, but in- stead of feeding yourself you were to feed the person next CGIT and their leaders for a very Mee time. Unit V UCW meets Unit V UCW met at the home of their president, Mrs. Chas McRobert March 30. Mrs. McRobert presided and opened the meeting with lesson thoughts on fellowship. Business items were discuss- ed and taken care of. Four quilts were displayed. Mrs. Garnet Baker and Mrs. Chas. Mrs. Wilmer Harlton assisted the - hostess to serve lunch. - St. Thomas ACW meets The St. Thomas Anglican Church women held their meeting and field trip at the James Purdue centre in St. Marys on Thursday evening. Mrs. Steve Grant conducted a lour of the workshop and showed a film on retarded children. Mrs. Lois Herbert opened the meeting with prayer followed by a poem entitled "The Cross". A short business meeting was held, and lunch was served by Mrs. Percy Hodgins and Mrs. Lois Herbert. HAROLD DAVIS KIRKTON Mrs. Joan McCormick spent the Easter break visiting with Mr. and Mrs. John Hanniman and family at Renfrew. The first meeting of the Kirkton More Outdoor Living 4-H club was held at the home of Mrs. Leonard Hawkins March _1/7th. Leaders are Janice Hawkins and Patricia Froud, there are twelve members in the club, Cindy Armstrong, Laurie Hawkins, Marlene Kernick, Laurie Simpson, Gwen Smith, Kim Spearin, Leslie Stephen Gwen Smith, Kim Spearin, Leslie Stephen, Valarie Stephen, Marilee Stephen, Tammy Walker, Terrie Wilcox and Marie Stephen. All are welcome. Crediton 4-11 April 1 the Crediton Dough -nuts held their fifth meeting at the Crediton Community Centre. The club opened the meeting by repeating the 4-H pledge and answering the roll call. The members then went through their manuals. After that the club went to the kitchen and practised making fancy knots that you can use for rolls. The next meeting will be April 8 at the Crediton Community Centre, which will be our party.
