Trinity Anglican Church
were greeted by Carol,
Frank, Christa, and Philip
Hardy. Morning Prayer was

Smith were added to the list
of recipients of "Certificate
of Merit" for correctly
naming the books of the New
Testament. Congratulations.
Rev. Pocock spoke on the
symbol: water. Water is at
the center of our lives. We
are born out of it. We are
sustained by it. We drink it.
We swim in it. We wash in it.
Sometimes the power of
water is mighty, sometimes
gentle; but it is always
mysterious.
The church uses water as a
sign of death -resurrection, a
sign of new beginnings.
Plunged into water at
Baptism, the Christian
emerges to new life and new
beginnings. Spring is the new
beginning of the earth when
signs of new life appea'-

United
Church
At Lucan United Church,
Sunday, members and
friends were welcomed to
the service by Susan and Ken
Rees.
Rev. Keith Brown con-
tinued his series on "The
Lord's Prayer" saying that
Jesus instructed His
disciples to pray for the most
wonderful thing that could
happen "Thy. Kingdom
Come." This petition is for
the extinction of all tyranny
and corruption so that truth
and righteousness will be
supreme. It is a cry for help,
a mission petition to save the
world and a dedicatory
prayer.
If we simply repeat the
prayer, with no thought of
what it means, we are
making a mockery of the
prayer.
We should pray this prayer
daily,remembering what it
means, and let God work it
out in our lives.
The choir sang the lovely
gospel anthem "If That isn't
Love," and Beth Cowdrey
told the children's story and
led the youngsters in Junior
Congregation.
UPCOMING: Following

Revival Centre
With Rev. C.J. Williams
away visiting his family, Mr:
William Davies conducted
the Sunday morning service
opening the service by
reading Psalm 98. Mrs. Jana
Lynn Rutledge accompanied
herself on the piano as she
sang "The Quiet Place," and
"Only One Road."
Mr. Davies spoke on
missing our inheritance.
Some people try to do a
reforming job on them-
selves. God makes a new
creation of us when we .ac-
cept Him. Ephesians 1:11-14
tells us we have obtained our
inheritance. Colossians 1:12
and 3:24 speak of our
inheritance. 1 Peter 2:9 tells
who we are in God. Hebrews
13:15 says to offer praise to
God. 1 Timothy 2:1 exhorts
us to pray for all men.
God does not expect us to
do this in our own strength. 1
Corinthians 12:7-10 lists the
Spirit given gifts God gives
His people for guidance and
help in the church, for His
people to grow in knowledge
of God. We will miss our
inheritance if we rebel
against God's plan. Fear will
hold us back. Settling for less
then God's best will cause us
to miss our inheritance and
lacking vision . of His
inheritance for us, will cause
us to miss it.
Rev. Allan Good led the
singing for the evening
service. Doug Butler and
Martha Sullivan sang "He
was There all the Time," and
"Only Jesus can Satisfy."
Mr. Davies said we can
wrap up our design for our
life, thinking it is God's will,
but it may not be His will at
all. Using a transparency he
showed dates in his life that
worked out to be in God's
will, although sometimes he
had planned otherwise.
Because he did all according
to God's time plan, more of
his family came to know the
Lord. Ecclesiastes 9:11 and
Romans 9:16 tell God's will
is not always what we think
it is.
1 John 3:22 says we will
have what we ask of God
we keep His commandments
and do those things pleasing
in His sight. The ultimate
will of God is accepting our
relationship with Christ,
forgetting our own personal
objectives, we press toward
God's mark for our lives.
