Snow Day - Monday
January 11 the students of
Stephen Central were not at
school because of the snow
storm. The students will
probably be hoping for
another one this weekend so
they .can miss more school.
Here is'what some of the
students and teachers did on
the day of the storm. Bev.
Dillon • went tobogganing,
Jean Klemke shovelled snow
and built a snow fort, Lisa
Hewitt - baked muffins,
Leslie MacDonald went back
to the creek and made a
snow fort. Mrs. Soldan did
some baking and tidied up •
her house. I guess the best
thing to do was to stay in the
house. - Lindy Dillon.
In oom 4_pvgy week ,we
have a ehi1d'of the week for
Guidance. This week it was
Rebecca Vandeworp. She
'.lrought a book called
Natural Wonders of the
World and a picture of her
and her brother. A poem
when she won at Exeter fair
and also some coins were
also displayed. - Lori
Hutchinson.
•The Grade 8 room 1
students did a History Pro-
ject. The projects were done
very well and displayed in
the hall. - Lori Hutchinson.
The Olds . Poor Hockey
team was chosen, Wednes-
day. January 15. The follow-
ing people were chosen
Janice Schade, Karen
Schade, Patti Love, Heather
Love, Marsha Brand, Dianne
Dearing, Susanne Smith,
Lori .Lynn Schenk, Denise.
Renning, Juanita Young,
Julie Hendrick, Tracy Ratz,
Tracey Davis, Tracey
Remkes, Bonnie Dillon,
Suzanne Finkbeiner and
Carrie Tiedeman. The girls
will travel to Exeter_ Public
School on January 29. They
- will play against five other
schools. - Julie Hendrick.
The students from grade 4
to 8 will be preparing to
write a three to five minute
speech in the next few
weeks. The teachers of these
grades will likely then have
their speeches read to the
class. From this reading
three or four students will be
chosen to participate in the
gym in school competition in
February. This competition
will be judged for grammar,
tone, good use of words and
many others. The winner of
that speak off will then
either go to Grand Bend or
Crediton. Hope everyone
enjoys the speeches. Good
luck! - Carolyn Pritchard.
