Bedard said a successful

Deputy reeve Lionel
Wilder, acting as chairman
for Monday's second
January meeting, said the
bylaws were good but that
someone was needed to
enforce them.
He said the person en-
forcing the bylaw has to
make the offence look like a
crime and win a court case
before it can be used as an
example. If the case is lost
he added, the example goes
against the township.

Secretaries
get boost
The Huron County Board
of Education and its 60
secretarial staff represented
by C.U.P.E., Local 1428 have
ratified a dollective
agreement to commence on
January 1, 1982 and ter-
minate on June 30, 1983.
The collective agreement
will raise the average salary
in 1982 from 89,095. to 810,268.
An additional increase shall
take place in January 1, 1983.
The hourly rates paid in 1981
range from $5.72 per hour to
$6.60 per hour after four
years.
The new starting salary
shall be $6.46 per hour and
shall increase to•$7.45 per
hour after four years em-
ployment. Effective January
1, 1983 the corresponding
salaries shall be 86.94 per
hour to $8.00 per hour.
The collective agreement
also provided for an em-
ployee funded - long term
disability plan.
'The parties reached an
agreement after three
meetings. The Huron County
Board of Education is
pleased with the agreement
reached and the excellent
relationship fostered during
the past year and the
negotiating process. Both
parties entered the
negotiating process with
reasonable expectations and
as a result a collective
agreement was reached
without the assistance of a
counciliator or a mediator,
the board statement noted.
PARK FEES
Provincial park fees will
increase next year but this
shouldn't deter those five
million who visited the parks
in 1981 from making a return
visit. To them it is still a
bargain holiday.
Ontario Natural Resources
Minister Alan Pope says the
increase, effective April 1, is
necessary to help offset
higher operating costs.
For example, a campsite
with electricity costing 87.50
in 1981 will cost 88.00 under
the new fee structure, while
aregular campsite increases
from 86.00 to 86.50.
"A week -day package at
reduced "rates as well as off-
season discount fees will
continue to be offered in
some parks in 1982," Mr.
Pope said.
