The Stephen atoms
defeated Woodstock
Whitelaws 7-4 and lost 6-5 to
Stallard TV in the "A" final.
Pete Conlin with three
goals and an assist was best
for Stephen. Completing the
scoring with two goals
apiece were Steve Dubarry
and Gary Wilson.
Frank Wulterkins nabbed
three assists, Scott Russell
helped on two goals and
Jeremy Finkbeiner and Rob
Glavin each got one assist.
Conlin again scored three
times in the final contest and
Gary Wilson added the
fourth goal. Getting assists
were Frank Wulterkins,
Steve Dubarry and Scott
Russel!.
In regular league play,
Saturday the Stephen
midgets were defeated 6-3
by Exeter , and the atom::
were blanked 4-0 by Hensall.
Tony Jones notched two
goals and Jeff Slaght fired
the odd goal. Each player
added one assist.
Four Stephen township
minor hockey teams par-
ticipated in the holiday week
tournament at Huron East in
London and came away with
one championship.
The Stephen midgets won
the "B" championship with
a 4-1 victory over Sarnia.
The bantams lost In .the
"B final, the peewees were
edged in the "A" Cham-
pionship contest and the
atoms also were defeated in
the "A" final. All in all. it
.was a very successful week
for the four clubs.
In the first midget game,
Stephen lost 4-2 to Huron
East with Dean • Watt and
Tony Jones getting the goals
on passes from Bob Rook,
George Tomes,' Jeff Slaght
and Jones.
Tony Jones scored two
goals and Allan Brand added
a single in the "B" semi-
final win over Belmont.
Assisting were Bob Rook
with two and Jeff Galloway
and Jones.
Scott Dsnney with a two
goal effort led Stephen's 4-1
championship win over Sar-
nia. The other goals were
fired by Dean Watt and Tony
Jones. Getting assists were
George Tomes and Dean
Allen.
In the bantam division the
first two Stephen games end-
ed in ties and they lost the
first and won the second in
shoot-outs.
In a 3-3 tie with Tilison-
burk. Mike Moffatt scored
twice and Eugene Glanville
with Dave Smith getting an
assist.
In the second game Mof-
fatt and Dean Allen were the
marksmen with Bill
Lessard. Steve McIntyre and
Moffatt assisting.
Dave Rook in goal for
Stephen turned in an out-
standing game stopping
three breakaways and one
penalty shot.
In the "B" final, Stephen
lost 5-2 to Huron East with
Mike Moffatt and Dean
Allen doing the scoring. Get-
ting an assist was Steve
McIntyre.
In pee wee action, Jerry
Lamport scored three times
and added four assists in
Stephen's 7-3 victory over
South Paul's Variety. Lee
Watt was next with two
goals and Mike Conlin added
a single goal and two assists

Serving South Huron, North Middlesex
and Mike McCallum had one
and one. 'Also assisting was
Steve Watson.
In the "A" semi-finals
Jerry Lamport was again
tops with fivegoals and two -
assists as his team blasted
the HH Hawks 10-1. Mike
McCallum contributed two
goals and 'an assist and
single goals were notched by
Lee Watt. Mike Conlin and
Steve Watson.
Dale Allen was the leading
playmaker with three
assists while Mike Conlin
added two assists and
Derrick McCann and Darrell
Coleman helped on one goal
each.
In a 5-2 win over Ontario
Motor League pee wees,
Mike McCallum led the
Stephen attack with a hat
trick effort and one assist.
Lee Watt added the other
two goals and assists were
picked up by Jerry Lamport
and Mike Conlin.
Jerry Lamport on an un-
assisted effort scored the
only Stephen goal in a 2-1
loss to East London Sports.
In an exhibition game dur-
ing the tournament Stephen
beat Hide -Away 10-7 with
Jerry Lamport getting four
goals and the same number
of assists. Mike McCallum
scored three times, Mike
Conlin scored twice and add-
ed »three assists and Lee
