Re: Exeter Grounds

Your committee was

the extent that its overall
appearance influences the
reputation of Exeter -' the
way it is perceived by
visitors and perhaps even by
potential newcomers who
might locate here as part of
a new industry or service..
We feel it is imliortant
that this project dome to a
logical and sensible conclu-
sion.
In an earlier personal
presentation to your Com-
mittee. we estimated that an
additional $10,000.00 would
allow us to complete second
phase drainage and install
the soccer pitch. This is im-
portant because . when the
existing old Fair barns -are
removed (to ground level)
we will be left with their
remains. The appearance of
that, not to mention the
potential _safety hazard, will
reduce the impact of our
grounds improvements to
date. Those additional
dollars, if budgeted for in
our 1982 fiscal year, will
represent a relatively small
financial hardship to the
Town. Those few dollars will
be money well spent con-
sidering the number Of peo-
ple involved who care about
the total development and
appearance of the area and
more directly, the growing
popularity of soccer as a
sport.
We believe that our
development goals are sound
to the point of the soccer
pitch and our work is on the
right track. The unanimous
approvals by Councils along
the way for our development
proposals and actions has
