Blocked roads cancel
church at Greenway
By ANNE wsea
By ANNE WALPER
A Christmas Ecumenical
meeting was held at St. -
John's -By -the -Lake at Grand
Bend Monday evening. Many
ladies from here attended. A
humorous akit was their
contribution to the program.
We enjoyed all the
Christmas readings and
songs that the other chur-
ches had prepared. The
Rector of the Church Rev.
James Sutton spoke and told
us how pleased he was to see
that we were meeting
together at special times in
the year.
The offering for the
evening was being sent to a
home for battered wives in
London. Later refreshments
were served in the church
hall and a time of fellowship
followed.
Personals
Once again in our area for
several days this week we
had reduced visibility, snow
and drifting while other
places, not too distant had
clear weather.
Our church was cancelled
on Christmas Sunday
because of blocked roads but
we are looking forward to the
•
Christmas Eve service
which will be _ held at
Greenway this year at 7:30
p.m. ,
I would like to thank the
people in our area for their
cooperation in giving me
news for the column and I
hope everyone has a very
Merry Christmas.

blanket of white hes the farmer's labors of the
harvest season just past and the growing
season soon to come. Momentarily dormant,
the fruits of his labors will spring forth again
to help feed and clothe a nation and a world.
Even while hiq land dozes, the farmer and his
family tend live stock and prepare for yet
another year of rebirth and renewal. The
farmer's continued devotion to the land is one
of the greatest gifts each of us receives on this
