Goderich and Blyth on a bus trip to Simcoe to see the.display of Christ- mas lights. Their first stop was at McDonalds for lunch in Woodstock then onto Coyles Factory outlet. where they were given a tour of the warehouse, which proved very interesting. Also stopped off at Wedge Cheese House a Fern Lea Flowers in Delhi. Then arriving at St. James United Church Hall for a delicious roast beef dinner before the light tour, which was stated as , the best yet! Free skating, rides Thank's to the bean festival committee and proceeds for allowing free ice skating time for all the tour of lights children every Saturday afternoon and to those giving free sleigh rides to everyone. Finally, they closed their eyes and went to the rear of the church. Rev. Smith wanted the children to feel the difference in darkness and light. Then they offered a prayer at the manger scene. Mrs. Wayne Carroll accom- panied the singing of hymns. This was followed by a program in the parish hall with Mrs. Hugh Davis,'Sun- day School leader as1 chairlady. HUGH MORENZ SHIPKA Mrs. Doris Sweitzer and Mr. and Mrs. Milton Sweitzer returned last Thursday after spending a week in Welland. Doris visited at her mother's Mrs. Elsie 'Comfort, and Milt and Eva with Mr. and Mrs. Gar - son Brady. On the evening of December 12. the family planned a surprise birthday party for Mrs. Comfort who is "78 years young", and was held at the home of her son Mr. and Mrs. Roy Comfort. Family and grandchildren attending numbered 56. Various games were played in the social time followed with a smorgasbord lunch and birthday cake. Spending the week end and attending the party from here were Marilyn and Jack Pickering, and grandchildren Bonnie and Mike Erickson and Jim and Marg Sweitzer. Dorothy Fenner, Mabel Guenther and Annie Morenz all attended the Christmas Ecumenical last Monday evening at St. John's Anglican Church in Grand Bend, from this area. Don.
