Verbeek stars in
junior volleyball
Second year junior,
Charlene Verbeek impressed
coach Pat Rowe with her
outstanding play as the team
won four of seven games in
an exhibition match,
Thursday, in Mitchell. Rowe
used the match as a test,
before making the final cut
from sixteen to twelve
players, Friday.
As well as Verbeek, first
year players Irene and
Pauline Brand and Cheryl
Dowson had notable per-
formances in the team's first
outing of the year. The team

WHAT SHOULD THE DECEASED WEAR?
Clothing helps to express the unique
characteristics of an individual. Even in
death, clothing can convey the special per-
sonality of the deceased. In the planning of
funeral details, the matter of clothing for
the deceased should not be overlooked.
Has there been a request in the past from
the deceased concerning his or her own
feelings? Sometimes a uniform of office or
volunteer leadership has been requested,
because of the significance to the deceased.
Medals and jewelry may be considered to
complete the uniform or dress.
Is clothing worn by the deceased during
lifetime appropriate? By all means. A suit
or dress which was a particular favorite of
the deceased - or the survivor - may be the
prime consideration.
We invite your questions and will answer
them privately or publicly through this
column.

girls volleyball team
demonstrated their potential
to be a Huron -Perth con-
tender as they won four of six
matches against Mitchell,
Thursday.
"We could have won all six
games, if we had been sure
of what we were doing on
offence," said assistant
coach, Joe Fulop.
This year, the team has
chosen to incorporate a
complicated but effective
penetrating offence that
allows the team` to have
three spikers in the front
row.
In the games against
Mitchell, with only two
week's preparation, the
girls were having trouble
setting the ball However,
Fulop feels the team has the
ability of any squad he has
coached in some time.
The scores of Thursday's
games against Mitchell
were: 15-8, 15-11, 15-9, 6-15,
12-15, 15-6.
The team will practice
during the holidays in
preparation for a tour-
nament January 9 in St.
Thomas and their league
opener January 13in Clinton.
