Casual get-togethers call
for casual food plans. Bet-
ween meats, it's a good idea
to serve some light finger
foods. Raw vegetables with
dip is a popular and
refreshing choice for sur-
prise occasions. Wash and
cut an assortment of carrot
coins, rutabaga sticks, and
fresh mushrooms. Arrange
prepared vegetables on a
platter around a bowl of
savory dip made with sour
cream, yogurt, or cream
cheese.
For a substantial array of
food, serve open-faced
sandwiches. They're easy to
prepare, delightful to see
and delicious to eat. Start
with an assortment of breads
and rolls. Slice and spread
with butter, mayonnaise or a
favorite condiment like
mustard, ketchup or hor-
seradish.
Choose the fillings
from the wide variety of
Ontario processed meat
slices, cold cooked meats,
cheeses, and eggs. Keep
fillings separate or team
them together for a tasty
change. Garnish the sand-
wiches with onion rings or
carrot curls. For a finishing
touch, serve with an
assortment of Ontario!
pickles.
Cheese trays are always,
welcome, whatever thel
occasion. Arrange a
generous assortment of
Ontario cheeses on a serving
tray. Include samples of
cheddar, farmers', brick,
provolone, ementhal, colby,
brie, havarti and camem-
bert. Decorate the tray with
plenty of crisp, juicy apples
for good looks as well as
great taste.
Remember to keep plenty
of Ontario foods on hand to
serve unexpected guests
during the holiday season.
