LOTS OF FUN — Billy Wuerth of Crediton found the new
snow Saturday morning to his liking. T -A photo
McGillivray School
On November 23, grade
three accompanied by grade
two went on a field trip to
London. In the morning they
visited the Children's
Regional Museum observing
a Japanese Exhibit and
watching and making
Christmas puppets. In the
afternoon they saw a live
performance at Centennial
Hall called "Jack and the
Beanstalk". Here are some
captions as expressed by the
student's themselves of their
day in London:
Lori Steeper - Monday,
November 23, McGillivray's
grade two and three class
went on a trip to London
Children's Regional Museum
and Centennial Hall. At
the museum we saw a
display of "Living in
Japan." Then we went to
see a Christmas Puppet
play. We all got to make
different puppets to bring
home with us. We had our
lunch at the museum. Then
we went to Centennial Hall to
see a play about "Jack and
the Beanstalk". Then we
went back to school.
Debbie Heaman - We saw
an exhibit in "Living in
Japan." After that we saw
Christmas Puppets. We
could make puppets of our
own. They made sock
puppets, a paper plate
puppet and an angel puppet.
We played with string
puppets.
Jennifer Lee - We saw
slides about "Living in
Japan". I made a kokeshi
doll and a fan. I learned how
to paper fold. Then we went
to a "Christmas Display
Puppets." Then a lady used
puppets and told us a story
about "The Night Before
Christmas." We went to the
park for a walk to have some
fresh air. Then we went into
Centennial Hall to see "Jack
and the Beanstalk." People
acted out the play. I liked the
part when the giant made
loud noises when he walked.
Jennifer Loomis - We got
to make Japanese things like
dolls and paper folding. We
went to see the Christmas
puppet display. We made
puppets like sock puppets,
stick puppets and " other
puppets. After lunch we went
to Centennial Hall to see
"Jack and the Beanstalk".
My favourite part was when
there was a big large noise
when the giant came in. I
also liked when the giant
burped in his wife's face.
Jack was a little boy who
wanted to climb the Bean-
stalk. He got the beans by
selling his cow to a man. He
was curious about the
magic beans. We had lots of
fun seeing "Jack and the
Beanstalk."
Angela Hodgson - We saw
slides and talked aout
"Living in Japan." The
Japanese people wear
Kimonas and wooden can-
dies. We also got to go in a
house with a kimona and
shoes on, and we got to
pretend to eat with chop-
sticks. "Jack and the
Beanstalk" was funny. It
was scary when the giant
was walking in the castle. It
was funny when the giant
gobbled up his meat.

Uncommon
sense.
Scirocco!
Uncommon because it's a sports
car with o powerful 1.7 Titre, fuel
injected overhead cam engine,
aerodynamic styling, and precise
handling characteristics.
Sense because Scirocco is
economical to drive. It even runs on
regular gasoline. And it -has seating
and luggage space for four people
with a fold down rear seat for more
room.
That's the kind of sense
Scirocco makes. Uncommon sense.
Don't settle for less.
