FOR THE TOWN OF EXETER
Due to the higher cost of providing service,
the Exeter Public Utilities Commission has
found it necessary to increase its electrical
rates for 1982 as of January 1st.
Ontario Hydro has found it necessary to in-
crease the wholesale rates 9.6 per cent in
1982 and in order to meet this additional
cost as well as substantial increases in
material etc. the Utility must increase retail
rates by approximately 11.3 percent.
Subject to Approval by Ontario Hydro

Dashwood Women's
Institute held a Christmas
fun night Tuesday,
December 1 with conveners
Mrs. Harry Hoffman, Mrs.
Louella Tieman and Mrs.
Harvey Beierling in charge.
The catering group served a
turkey supper to members
and husbands or a guest.
Three lovely poinsettias
were given to Mrs. Mildred
Kellerman for a marked
chair, to Ray Rader for the
nearest birthday and to Mrs.
Irvin Rader for amarked cup.
The roll call for both
members and guests was
"Name Your favourite
Christmas carol".
Following supper, the
president, Mrs. Gordon
Bender, conducted a brief
business meeting. Monetary
gifts were given to the two 4-
H leaders Mrs. Ray Rader
and Mrs. Earl Keller and the
girls who had completed six
and 12 projects. Mrs. Earl
Keller gave a Christmas
reading and Harry Hoffman
lead in Carol singing. Bunco
was played with winners
ladies high, Mrs. Harold
Carroll; low, Mrs. Syd

funeral In Richmond Hill
Tuesday, December 2 of
their brother-in-law, Nor-
man Evans, husband of the
former Myrta Hoffman.

ternoon the United Church
Women held a successful
bazaar and tea.
The various booths in-
cluded a craft shop, a nearly
new shop, produce, home
baking, mitten tree and fish
pond - plus a silent auction of
two afghans (having a
reserved bid).
A work night was held
Thursday in preparation for
the event. Both the
auditorium and lower hall
were beautifully decorated
for the occasion.
Sunday morning a number
of visitors joined the
congregation for the
Sacrament of Baptism and
the White Gift service.

in Exeter.
Senior citizens met in the
Community Centre Monday
for an afternoon of crokinole
and cards followed by lunch.

Centre next Monday,
December 14 at 12:30 p.m.
Constable is speaker at
Staffs Women's Institute

speaker at the Citizen and
World Affairs meeting of the
Staffa Women's Institute,
held in the township hall on
November 25. with 16
members present.
Constable Beattie was
most interesting. explaining
the laws and rights of a
citizen. He also told that he
had been with the Provincial
Police for fifteen years.
Constable Beattie now visits
the schools in Perth County
and talks to over 6.000
children every year. He was
introduced and thanked by
Mrs. Charles Douglas.
