CLANDEBOYE
Best wishes are extended
to Clarence Million who will
reach his 88th birthday,
December 10. Clarence
enjoys reasonably good
health and is able to live
alone in his apartment in
Clandeboye. He is an ardent
horse racing fan and attends
the races in London
regularly.
A well known, former
resident of Clandeboye,
Gladys Hall, of London, will
be celebrating her 80th birth-
day, Sunday, December 19.
Her family are holding an
Open House in her honour
and details of that may be
found in the announcements
of this paper.
Gladys and her husband
Jim Hall, operated a service
station for many years at the
north end of the Clandeboye
curves. White they raised
their four children, Gladys
was busy in Women's
Institute, 4-H work and the
Catholic Women's League,
as well as using her
education as a Registered
nurse.
In 1959, her husband, Jim,
passed away and soon after
his death, no. 4 highway was
reconstructed, the service
station and house occupied

Seek cemetery records
To the Editor:
The London Branch of the
Ontario Genealogical
Society is desirous of
completing cemetery
records in all townships of
Middlesex County as quickly
as possible. It is very imp -
portant to do them to have a
record when many tomb-
stones are no longer in
existence.
There are 152 known
cemeteries and perhaps one-
third are recorded. A list of
all cemeteries yet to be done
is on file, and information
can be furnished to anyone
desirous of giving us a hand
with this mammoth task.
No doubt many we have
completed should be updated
this year which adds to the
undertaking we anticipate.
We therefore appeal to all
interested individuals, out-
of-town members of the
O.G.S., families, churches,
cemetery boards, township
and county councils,
Historical Societies,
libraries, etc. to notify us of
all cemetery recordings now
in existence. Perhaps we
could arrange to get
photocopies for our files. All
this assistance will be deeply
appreciated to avoid
duplication of efforts.
Many volunteers are
needed, now for checking,
and new recordings in the
spring. Perhaps senior
citizens, Home and School
Association members,
Women's Institute members,
teachers and pupils, Scout
and Guide groups, etc. would
be interested in receiving
our 'Do a Cemetery Your-
self' kit. It is most in-
teresting to do a nearby
cemetery, especially if some
of those interred are your
ancestors.
When all records are
published, they will be filed
in the Regional Library at
the University of Western
Ontario, the London Public
Library, the OGS library in
Toronto, and the Federal and
Provincial Archives for use
by all interested persons or
groups.
Be a 'Do a Cemetery
Yourself' fan of the London
O.G.S. Write to Mrs. M.
Aitken, at the above address
for further information and
tell her what cemetery you
would find convenient to do.

Gladys went to London to
1961, where she continued
her nursing career until her
retirement in 1971.
Congratulations and best
wishes are extended to
Gladys from her many
friends in the Clandeboye
area.
UCW meet
The Clandeboye United
Church Women met at the
home of Irene Lynn for their
December meeting. Gwen
Lynn, presided. Hazel
Williams conducted the
worship service and read "A
Christmas Thought."
All members took part in
"The Christmas Story," as it
was told from the first
Christmas to the present day
Christian festivals. Several
Christmas carols were sung.
Correspondence included a
letter from Regional
president, Mar j Park,
Lucan, bringing greetings
and information. Parcels are
being sent to Angola to help
the suffering and need of
African Christians who have
been driven from their
homes by strife and by the
Cuban Communist presence
in Angola.
Instead of White Gifts this
year, donations of many
needed articles, were
collected and will soon be
packed and in the mail. A
donation was voted to Alma
College to assist their
operating expenses.
Compassion money was
turned in and gifts received
for the Teen Girls Home in
London. Treasurer, Irene
Lynn gave a favourable year
end report. The slate of of-
ficers for the coming year
remains the same as last
year.
