Church services
The regular church ser-
vice was held Sunday mor-
ning conducted by Mr. Lorne
Thrower. The children's
hymn was. "We are clim-
bing Jacob's Ladder."
followed by a story which
talked about ladders.
Mr. Thrower used a
simulated ladder which he
made from rolled newspaper
to emphasize the story.
The message was entitled
"Here Comes Santa Claus"
The context of the message
was the comparison of a San-
ta Claus parade to the Ad-
vent season.
Both showed how there
was a build up...complete
with excitement and
enthusiasm. and climaxed in
the parade by the coming of
Santa Claus. and in the Ad-
vent season with the birth of
Jesus Christ on Christmas
Day.
When we hear the words,
"Here Comes Santa Claus",
we know that the prepara-
tion. the watching. and the
waiting. are all going to be
fulfilled when we watch the
parade.
Likewise. Advent prepares
us for the coming of the
Church year in the same
manner. and our excitement
and anticipation should not
be of a lesser nature.
