The service in the United
Church on Sunday morning
began with a hymn sing with
Mrs. Lois Wilson leading the
singing and organ and piano
accompaniment by Mr. and
Mrs. Doug Gill.
There was an anthem by
the choir and the children
were told a story.
Personals
You are reminded of the
presentation. "In Grand Ca-
nyon with Burton Crowe" in
'sound and color, this coming
Saturday night at 8 p.m. in
the United Church.
Senior Citizens enjoyed an
afternoon of crokinole and
cards followed by lunch in
the Community Centre on
Monday.

Mrs. Minnie Harrison was
able to leave St. Joseph's
Hospital on Wednesday of

A fire call was answered
by the Lucan district
volunteer fire department
late Wednesday night, to the
home of Hazel and Rupert
Williams. on Highway 4, just
north of Clandeboye, to
make sure a chimney fire
did not get out of control.

was held November 16.
The ceremony was con-
ducted by Ross Hallam of
Goderich. The leaders in-
vested were Perry
Cronkwright, Brian Jones,
David Hunt, and Daryl Mit-
ton.

Mrs. Joan McCormick
presided for the meeting.
Meditation was read by Mrs.
Garth Blackler.
Guest speaker was Mrs.
Jack Urquhart who gave a
most interesting talk on the
history of St. Paul's Church
W.A. beginning with the first
meeting held October 14,
1904. Mrs. Callard of St.
Paul's Cathedral was pre-
sent and Mrs. Thos. Dickens
president of St. Patrick's
Church Saintsbury.
The Rector was Reverend
Racey. The Branch was
named Bishop Baldwin
Memorial. Lunch was serv-
ed by Mrs. Garth Blackler
and hostess.
The young people of
Kirkton and Woodham
United Church conducted the
morning church service led
by president Kevin Stephen
and vice president Tim
Shute. The choir and ushers
were members of the young
and ' s. Whitney
Coates, Miss Wilma Coates,
London, Mr. and Mrs. Keith
Coates, Brad, Tom and
Susan, Centralia, Mr. Wally
Smolanski, Kitchener and

former's granddaughter

was held in the Gourmet
Club, St. Clair Shores.
Friday evening Mrs. C.
Greiner, the groom's mother
gave a delicious rehearsal
dinner in her home to 50
guests, to which Mr. and
Mrs. Coates, Wilma, Brad,
Tom and Susan attended.

UCW meets
The monthly meeting of
Kirkton U.C.W. was held in
the church basement. Mrs.
Ewart Crago told the story
of Holman Hunt's famous
painting "The light of the
World" Mrs. Heard read the
scripture. Mrs. Rev. King
and Mrs. Allan Eveleigh
gave a skit on the "Lord's
Prayer" and Mrs. Robert
Ratcliffe and Mrs. Jack
Wiles gave a skit on "A
Great Saving".
Mrs. Ross Tufts read the
new slate of officers and
Mrs. Clayton Ross installed
them. Mrs. Raymond
Paynter invited the new
slate of officers to her home
to plan the programs. Group
3 will be in charge of the
dinner December 5.
