Institute met at Usborne
Central School November 11,
and entertained all Huron
South sister institutes.
Following the Ode, Collect
and minutes of last meeting,
president Mrs. Floyd Cooper
reminded the members of
the invitation from Huron -
dale to meet with them at
Usborne Central School,
November 25.
The Vials of Life for
Usborne township have been
ordered and will be dis-
tributed as soon as possible
after arrival.
The meeting was then
turned over to the
programme committee Mrs.
Ross Skinner and Mrs. Carl
Gower.
A memorial service was
conducted for all past
members with Mrs.
Wellington Brock, Mrs. Ross
Skinner and Mrs. Carl
Gower taking part. Mrs. Dan
Coward. Mrs. Dennis Rowe
sang a duet to make a fitting
conclusion to this part of the
programme.
Mrs. Ross Skinner in-
troduced Mr. George
Jenner. Kitchener, a han-
dicapped musician who kept
everyone spellbound with his
life story and beautiful
musical renditions.
Mrs. Howard Pym sang
and Miss Margaret Pym
played guitar and favored
the audience with some love-
ly numbers.
A how to and how not to
fashion show was presented
with Mesdames Jerry

Bend was the meeting place
October 21 for Alpha Pi
Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi.
Mary Morrice, a former
owner .of the store
demonstrated the making of
basic grain bread,
homemade yogurt and
mayonnaise. During the
evening these were sampled
as well as several other tas-
ty items including split -pea
soup. alfalfa sprouts on pita
bread and carob balls.
For most of the members
this was an introduction to
the subject of natural foods
and proved to be a most en-
joyable and informative
evening.
The meeting was planned
by Susar Moore as a presen-
tation of her program on
"Diet".
November 3 members
gathered at South Huron
District High School to play
volleyball as Barb Ballan-
tyne and Joan Westerhout
physically involved
everyone in their program
on "Recreation". Members
then proceeded to the home
of sponsor. Mrs. Helen
Frayne where lunch was
served by Mrs. Frayne and
Sharon McNeilly.
Several items of business
were discussed with presi-
dent. Susan Moore in charge.
The Chrsitmas gift exchange
meeting will be held jointly
with the other two Beta
Sigma Phi Chapters -in Ex-
eter. This will be agreatop-
portunity to meet and visit
with our fellow sorority
sisters.

The Pledge Ritual for new
members. Lynda Freiter,
Joan Morgan, Sandra Rowe,
and Liz Taylor was held
November 17 at the home of
director. Mrs. Lillian
Campbell. Following the
ritual a delicious pot luck
supper and a social time was
enjo . by all.
MR. AND MRS. GEOFFREY MARTYN
Cherie Kathleen Phillips and GeoffreyMortyn exchanged wed-
ding vows recently at St. Adams Anglican Church, London
with Rev. Peter Tett officiating. The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs Bruce Phillips, London and Mr. and Mrs. George
Mortynof London' and Grand Bend are parents of the groom.
The maid of honour was Lisa Landrey, bridesmaids were Linda
Roseniretar and Donna Foster and Michele Leach was junior
bridesmaid The flower girl was Terryl Schomberg. The best
mon was Tim Barnes and guests were ushered by Gary and
Larry Martin and Larry Thomsen. After a honeymoon in the
Pocono mountains the couple has taken up residence in Lon-
don.
Exeter students
will join program
The Blyth Festival Singers
will present two concerts of
Christmas music on Sunday,
December lith ;it 3 p.m. and 8
p.m. in Blyth Memorial
Hall.
This mixed. community
choir of 80 voices came
together in September. '81
under the auspices of the
Blyth ('entre for the Arts. It
represented a new direction
in the growth of the Centre
and the subsequent sell-out
concerts throughout the
season have attested to the
popularity of choral music in
the Huron -Perth area.
The choir is under the
professional direction of
Laurie Hoc'botham of
Listowel Howbotham says
that he is enjoying the oppor-
tunity to mould a choir from
the beginning and feels that
the choir is "at least a year

ahead" of where he expected
it would he at this time in its
development. The choir is
accompanied by Arlene
Darnbrough of Goderich.
The intermediate choir of
the Exeter Public School
will share the programe
with the Myth Festival
Singers This excellent
children's choir under the
direction of Mrs. Joan
Perrie won the hearts of the
audience at last year's cor.-
cert and the Singers are
pleased to have them on the
program again this year.
They will perform works by
themselves and with the
adult choir
Tickets are $3.00 for adults
and 1.50 for children and are
available from choir
