Police stats
on increase
Total occurrences being
handled by the Exeter police
department have increased
over last year according to.
Chief Ted Day.
At Monday night's council
session, in response to a
question from Deputy -Reeve
Alvin Epp regarding the
number of occurrences, Day
indicated they were roughly
up about 100 over last year.
There were 182 handled dur-
ing the month of October.
Among the statistics for
the month were: 10 ac-
cidents with one minor in-
jury and damage of $6,175,
nine charges under he
Highway Traffic Act, 12 un-
der the Liquor Control Act,
two under the Narcotics
Control Act, three parking
tickets issued, eight thefts,
six incidents of damage to
public and private property
with total damage of ;205,
one assault, five animal
complaints, one place of
business found insecure.
' During the month the of-
ficers recorded 64 hours of
overtime, with 16 of those
being for court duty.
Perhaps fewer women
would conceal their age if
more men acted theirs.
