IRVIN RADER DASHWOOD Dashwood Women's Institute met Tuesday, November 3 with 19 members and onevisitor present. Mrs. Gordon Bender, president, dealt with the business. Two invitations were ' accepted. Donations were made to Family and Children's Services, Dashwood Men's club, War Memorial Hospital, Erland Lee Homestead and Cystic Fibrosis. Mrs. Ray Rader gave a report on the executive meeting held at Hensall. The quilt course will begin Mon- day, November 9 with leaders, Mrs. Eben Weigand and Mrs. Emil Becker. The Resolutions con- veners, Mrs. Harold Carroll, Mrs. Syd Baker and Mrs. Erwin Schade were in charge of the program. The roll call, "A commer- cial that can be annoying as well as embarrassing" prov- ed interesting. Mrs. Syd Baker who was also chairlady read a poem "My Shopping List" and Mrs.Carroll read "The Ar- mistice Prayer". The resolution, - Resolved the Government should allocate more funds for the prevention of retardation rather than on the in- stitutionalizing of retarded BAKING FOR SALE Tina Kingma and Betty Brand show some of the baking for sale at Saturday's bazaar sponsored by the Bethel Reformed Church women's group. T -A photo people. Guest speaker, Wendy Hines public relations representative for the han- dicapped of Huron County spoke on the work being done at ARC and the group homes in Exeter. Sheshowed slides of the nursery and ac- tivities carried out at ARC and the group homes. She was thanked by Mrs. Carroll and presented a gift. Following "The Queen" lunch was served. The Egg Heads held the final meeting November 2. It was a pot luck dinner with Mothers guests and each girl bringing a dish. After the 4- H grace everyone dug in. Some highlights were Rice Pilaff, the hot dish and the floating icebergs. Punch, the minutes and roll followed. The girls thank Mrs. Datars for doing the dishes while a rowdy game of Bun- co was enjoyed. High scorer was Mrs. Smith and low, Mrs. Mellecke. They also thank the leaders, Mrs. Ray Rader and Mrs. Earl Keller for putting up with them for this club. Personals Judith Mellecke, Ann Ar- bor, Michigan was a visitor at her home here. Mrs. Anne Nagel, Susan and Chris Baynham, Oshawa, spent the weekend with Mrs. Ernest Koehler and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hayter and family. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cud - more, Grand Bend, accom- panied by Mrs. George Tieman and Mrs. Albert Rader spent Sunday at Wind- sor where they visited with Mcisaac relatives. Mrs. Minnie Johnston, son, Gerald and daughter, Mrs. Florence Herdman. Also Mr. and Mrs. Niel Mcisaac, Lorne, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Merner and Mr. and Mrs. Ron Stucthurt, Kitchener, were Sunday visitors with Mrs. Louella Tieman. Place a length of aluminum foil under the ironing board cover.
