Junior girls split
The junior girls basketball
team split their games last
week, defeating Wingham
46-28 in a regular season
contest, Wednesday, but
losing 44-21 to an aggressive
Woodstock College Avenue
squad, Monday.
In a slow game, that was
plagued by close to 40 jump
balls, Janet Pfaff led South
Huron with 11 points, Janet
Ferguson, Jackie Cottrell
and Charlene Verbeek had 8,
7 and 6 points respectively.
Verbeek had six points in
the Panther's loss to College
Avenue. South Huron failed
to take advantage of their
shooting opportunities.
"We're in a mid-season
slump, three-quarters of the
way through", said coach
Pat Rowe. The team will be
trying to gain a berth in the
playoffs when they host
undefeated Goderich today
and travel to Mitchell
tomorrow. -
