Church due to no heat at the
community centre. Mrs.
Pearl Miller, presided for
the business. There were 51
members and three visitors
present. A bus trip to the
Eaton Centre is planned for
November 25 instead of to
the Royal Winter Fair. A
donation of $300 was made to
the Dashwood Community
Centre. Vials ofLife weredis-
cussed. Zurich Lion's Club
will supply the vials for
Dashwood and Mrs. Pearl
Miller and Mrs. Mildred
Kellerman will distribute
them. The Fall Rally at
Holmesville was attended by
13 members. The Christmas
dinner will be held at ARC
December 14.
Mrs. Eben Weigand's
group was in charge of the
program and Mrs. Ed Hen-
drick read two poems.
"Autumn" and "Harvest
Time". Mrs. Weigand read
a poem '`The Violin". There

was a short sing song follow-
ed by Peter Snell singing and
playing the guitar. Bingo
followed. During lunch, Mrs.
Weigand read the story of
the bedpan. Everyone had a
delightful evening.
Egg heads meet
The fourth meeting of
Dashwood 4-H girls' club
was held October 19. The
club adopted the name "The
Egg Heads". The girls learn-
ed how to separate eggs, the
yolk from the white. They
also learned about the white
as a leavening agent, beating
and folding, egg nutrition
and the use of extra yolks
and whites.
An experiment was done,
making French dressing
withand without an egg. The
egg acted as an emulsifier,
holding the dressing
together. Following this, the
girls made eggonomical
quiche. rice nilof and a salad

for the dressing. All enjoyed
Jhe new dishes.
Personals
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Greb
have returned home follow-
ing a trip to Kansas City
Missouri where they attend-
ed Melvin's brother Gor-
don's funeral.
Mrs. Adolph Keller ac-
companied Mr. and Mrs.
Percy Willert, Zurich, and
Mrs. Helen Turner, Varna,
to Alberta, where they spent
a month. Mrs. Keller visited
at Red Deer with her
daughter and family Mr. and
Mrs. Jake Martens. She also
attended the 25th wedding
anniversary of Mr. and Mrs.
Carl Willert at Olds and
visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Edgar Willert at Innisfail.
They all had a wonderful
trip.
Eleven ladies from
Dashwood Women's
Institute attended a dessert
euchre Wednesday, October
21 as guests of Hensall
Institute. Mrs. Florence
Keller brought home the
booby prize. Mrs. Keller and
Mrs. Jean Walper also won
prizes in a draw.
A very successful hunting
trip at Timmins was had by
Lorne Marshall, Don
Weigand, Wilmer and Ron
Desjardine. They came
home with two moose. The
weather was very cold.
Recent visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. Oscar Miller were
Mrs. Robert Green Huron
Park, and Pam Bacon,
Toronto. Last Thursday
dinner guests were Mr. and
Ms. Otto Schatz, Garden Ci-
ty, Michigan, who were
visiting with Mr. and Mrs.
Vernon Schatz.
Rev. E. Rasmussen,
Arizona, founder and Ex-
ecutive Director of Lutheran
Evangelism Association was
guest speaker at Zion
Lutheran church Sunday
morning and also conducted
a workshop in the afternoon
"Witnessing for the shy
Christian".
Mr. and Mrs High Boyle
attended the 40th wedding
anniversary of Hugh's
cousin, Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Dunn, Midland Sunday.

Rev. Smith was in charge
of service at St. Patrick's
Church Sunday afternoon.
He told the children the story
of "David the Shepherd" and
preached from the book of
Haggai on the restoration of
the Temple. Service next
Sunday will be at 9:30
o'clock.
Mrs. Alma Godbolt, Mr.
and Mrs. Elliott McRoberts,
Exeter, Mrs. Elva Godbolt,
Listowel, Mrs. Lela Abbott,
Mrs. Greta Gibson, and Mrs.
Mabel Needham, were lunch
guests with Mary Davis,
Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Wilker
and Mrs. Mabel Bale,
Tavistock and Mrs. Mary
Davis were Sunday dinner
guests with Mr. and Mrs.
Jim Barker.
Miss Marylou Tindall,
London spent the week -end
with her parents Mr. and
Mrs. Bob Tindall and
Robert.
