Irene Dietrich crossed .the line first and Colleen Regier was fourth as the midget girls finished second ahead of Stratford Central in the team standings. "The midget girls'hopes for a Huron -Perth championship depend on Lisa Corey of Stratford Central", coach Joe Fulop said. Corey, Stratford's best midget runner, hasn't raced recently because of an in- jury. Colleen Bedard and Angela Fleming were 14th and 19th respectively to complete the midget four. The senior girls team surprised Fulop by winning the team championship at the Exeter meet. Mary Lou Rundle ran a strong race to place fourth. Esther Van Oss and Susan Sullivan were seventh and eighth respectively. "They'll win easily at Huron -Perth", Fulop said , confidently about the senior girls team. The junior team is going to run senior at Huron -Perth because there is a better chance of cap- turing that pennant. The junior girls were a disappointing fifth at the invitational. Susan Bir- mingham, despite the loss of her shoe, still managed 7th place on the slippery course. Alice Dietrich powered her way to 16th in the large field of runners. "It'll be hard to get first, but they'll be second for sure", Fulop said after the senior boys were edged into second by Stratford Central. Matt McClure covered the five mile course first and John Van Esbroeck was 11th. "Rocket" Rodney Masnica blasted into 13th while Mike Van Raay and Jim Regier were 14th and 15th respec- tively. Plagued by injuries, the midget boys could manage only a fifth placing. With a ninth place finish, Dan Morley was the best midget. The season comes to a climax tomorrow when South Huron hosts the Huron -Perth championships.
