United Church on the oc-
casion , of their 114th an-
niversary, with the Rev.
Elwood B. Morden in charge
and Doug Barr presiding at
the organ. The church was
decorated beautifully in
keeping with Harvest -
Thanksgiving theme.
The Bryanston -Bethel
Folk Choir under the
leadership of U. Bewalda
and George McRoberts
rendered special music with
a message for all.
The guest speaker was the
Rev. Charles J. Scott,
Chaplain . of the London
Psychiatfic Hospital, who
took as his theme "Spiritual
Renewal", based on Psalm
103. The message of this
Psalm is what our troubled
world needs to -day, as we
renew our pact with God.
"To make this renewal
said Mr. Scott, "we must
find ourselves first." We do
not do this by doctors'
medications, but by daily
seeking God's will in Bible
reading and prayer and
acting upon His will as it is
revealed to us.
We too, need to look within
our own family structures
and ask ourselves if we are
the parents and children God
intended us to be! Are we a
parent a child can remember
with pride? Are there any
grudges our family bear that
are unresolved and need
talking out.
A light lunch and a time of
fellowship was enjoyed in the
Church Hall.
- The anniversary
celebrations will continue on
Wednesday evening October
21 from 5-8 p.m. when a
turkey buffet will be served.
