Junior and senior singers perform
at Centralia church service
By MRS. FRED BOWDEN
CENTRALIA
"Why are we here, Why go
to church" was the subject
of Rev. Crowe's sermon in
the United Church on Sunday
morning. He based his
thoughts on the text "God is
a spirit and they that
worship Him must worship
Him in spirit and truth".
Worship rebukes the evil
in us; enables us to develop a
sense of right and wrong and
provides a strength to live
stronger lives and make our
own decisions. Worship
develops an inner stability
and peace.
We come to the House of
Prayer for renewal that the
world does not provide.
Worship brings us into God's
sunlight to keep us from
growning spiritually blind.
The children were told a
story. There was an anthem
by the choir and the juniors
in the phoir favoured with a
number.
This coming Sunday the
church service will be
cancelled on account of the
anniversary service in the
Zion West church.

THE WHITE LOOK
One of the important
characteristics to watch for
when buying fresh Ontario
cauliflower is a snowy white
color. The color of the head
or "curd" indicates if the
cauliflower was properly
grown, says marketing
specialists at the Ontario
Ministry of Agriculture and
Food.
When properly grown, the
cauliflower curd is protected
from sunlight. This is done
by gathering the plant leaves
and tying them so that they
enclose the curd. When not
properly covered, the curd
develops a yellowy color in
the sunlight and may have
some flavor damage.
To help choose thefreshest
cauliflower, look for bright
green, fresh outer leaves
and a head that is firm, com-
pact and heavy for its size.
Check that the cluster of
flowers is tightly closed, as !
they tend to spread apart as
the vegetable matures.
