A very tasty pot luck luncheon was enjoyed by 29 ladies. A silent auction was held and was successful. Trophies and awards were presented to the three flights. Flight A trophy presented by Westcott's was won by Eileen Rennie with low net going to Dorothy Marks. Flight B trophy also donated by Westcott's went to Kathy Whiteford with low net won by Betty Coates. Flight C trophy donated by Jerry MacLean went to Marg Lovell and low net to Jeanette Turner. Most improved player award went to Peggy Ferguson. Eileen Rennie made the presentation ot a gift of money to Hazel Westcott pointing out how hospitable and cheerful she is at all times. President Helen Webber thanked all of her assistants and the ladies of the club for their co-operation and at- tendance. The new officers for 1982 are president Eileen Rennie, secretary -treasurer Grace Drummond, score keeper and games, Dorothy Kipfer, phoning Jeanette Turner, Helen Kleinstiver and Marg Lovell. Some of the ladies played golf before lunch and cards after the business meeting. After having the year start off with several losses that they don't like to remember, the club took five straight games. This weekend in the tournament at Lucan,Exeter 2 met up with Taxandria 1. Exeter took control of the game in the first half leaving the field with two scores by Brian Quinn and a third goal by Jeff Hannah, Taxandria was able to muster up enough energy to put one goal in the net. In the second half Exeter seemed to back into a defense shell, hoping to hold their two goal lead. It wasn't long before Taxandria tied the score up. Two over time halves of five minutes each were then played. It seemed like a new Exeter team. They came out running and passing the ball as though they had been reserving ability and skill, unsurpassed by any other team. A goal by Brad Borland put Exeter ahead in the first five minutes and several other excellent attempts by Jeff Kints, Mike Rankin and Chris Haugh gave that urge to win. In the second game of the tournament Grand Bend defeated Exeter with a final score of 1 vs. 0. This game was extremely close as we can see by the score. Both goalies played extremely well, with Mike Dykstra earning extra recognition for his beautiful performance over the past four games.
