Pay for wheat
A final payment to Ontario
wheat producers on 1980
crop wheat in the amount of
$16.75 per tonne or ap-
proximately 47 cents per
bushel is being planned by
the Ontario Wheat
Producers' Marketing
Board.
Board chairman Robert
Butler, RR 1 Croton, said the
payment will be made by
!mid-September to ap-
' proximately 16,000
producers who sold wheat
between July 1, 1980 and
June 30, 1981.
Producers received an in-
itial payment of $83.00 per
tonne on their 1980 crop, and
in addition to the final pay-
ment, the board made an in-
terim payment of $27.55 per
tonne or approximately 75
cents per bushel in February
1981, and another one in the
amount of $37.00 per tonne or
approximately $1.00 per
bushel in May.
The total of all payments
for the 1980 crop is $164.30
per tonne or approximately
$4.47 per bushel.
Total 1980 crop producer
sales to the board amounted
to 675 668 tonne. Board sales
of nearly 350,000 tonne to ex-
port markets and about 315,-
000 tonne to domestic
