Busy day at Cromarty

committees are to be con-
gratulated on the good
organization of the day, as
are Marjorie Drake and
Esther Smale, and com-
mittees for the excellent
food.
Thanks are also due the
Russell Millers and
assistants who did their
usual excellent job of cook-
ing the chops.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Gillespie, London, spent the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Scott.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert La-
ing attended the play
Coriolanus at the Stratford
Festival Theatre on Sunday
afternoon. Their son, An-
drew. is a jobber at the
theatre, having non -speaking
parts as a soldier and a
Roman citizen. He will also
appear in A Comedy of
Errors when it starts the
middle of August. It is in-
teresting to note that Bryan
Eaton, who lives in the
former Bill McCurdy has a
similar job.
Erin Zimmer, Stratford,
spent last week with her
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Laing. Thursday
evening visitors at•the same
home were Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Coleman, Exeter.

at Lucan on Sunday af-
ternoon in honour of Mrs.
Eva (Allison) Young's 80th
birthday.

Bike-a-thon raises
money for centre

Mr. and Mrs. Ross Love
arrived home Thursday
evening following a holiday
'at their son Don's cottage at
Shequland, Manitoulin
Island and were delighted
that their first great
grandson, Peter Anthony
Ross Mennen had arrived
August 5 to proud parents,
Tony and June (Datars)
Mennen. The baby's sister,
Crystal, is happy too.
Also vacationing at the
cottage with them were, Mr.
and Mrs. Lloyd Love
Parkhill, Mrs. Mervyn Love,
Wyoming, and Mr. and Mrs.
Douglas Gill, Exeter.
Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Rader
were Thursday dinner guests
with Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Miller and girls, Zion.
Richard Denomme, Dave
Rader, Travis Davis, Bill
Vandeworp, Jon Denomme,
Wayne Denomme and Jennie
Bregman were on a 19 mile
bike-a-ihon Sunday and
raised over $400.00 for Dash-
wood Area Medical centre.
.A number of people from
here attended the Becker --
Bedard wedding in Zurich,,
Saturday, and the reception
at the roc centre Exeter. The
groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Valentine Becker.
David Mellecke,
Saskatchewan, is
vacationing with his parents,
Rev. and•Mrs. M. Mellecke
and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Kraft, London, were Sunday
visitors with Mr. and Mrs.
Elgin Rader. They all had
supper at the Zurich hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. Mike Gravel,
Sarah and Aimee, Peter-
borough, spent the weekend
with Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Datars and family and also
attended the Becker -Bedard
wedding.
Mrs. Aldene Wolfe has
returned home follwoing a
ten day vacation in the
Maritimes. She flew out and
joined her son and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Eric Wolfe of
London and returned home
with. them.
Pastor M. Mellecke was in
' charge of the service at the
Blue Water Rest Home
Sunday evening. He was
accompanied by members of
Zion Lutheran Church.
The only time some people
work like a horse is when the
boss rides them.
