Laing returns from Israel
Rev. Barbara Laing has
returned home following five
weeks spent in Israel and
England. In an interview she
said, "I was at a summer
School in Israel led by an
Anglican Canon Ronald
Browning. We were a party
of 48 from many parts of the
world representing various
denominations. We had a
very intensive 16 days.
Archaeologol sites, religious
sites were visited and
today's Israel, touring some
Kibbutz and visiting an Arab
Home."
"We had lectures on all the

places visited as well as the
historical background. There
were also lectures on the
M llm faith and the Muslim
Israeli situation with
thoughts on the role of the
Christian church in today's
situation."
"We had fun and great and family London spent the
fellowship sharing the weekend with Mrs. Erna

central to a visit to the Holy
.Land. The place where
"The word" became flesh
and lived among us. "To
walk where Jesus walked
and know the reality of His
life and death and
resurrection is an experience
never to be forgotten."
In England she relaxed
and visited old friends whom
she had not seen for many
years and did a little sight
seeing.
She enjoyed the whole
outing but was very glad to
unpack her bags for the final
time at home in Canada once
more.
THE WINNERS — These two youngsters took off with first
prize in the decorated bicycle contest at the Friedsburg
parade, and also took off before the judges could get them

WON'T TOUCH IT — Dashwood trustees Nancy Rader, George Tieman and Ken Rader
were among the parade participants, Saturday. Because an apple a day keeps the doctor
away, the three noted they weren't eating apples because Dashwood wants a doctor for
their new medical centre.
