Cancel workshop, plan classes
Plans for a painter's
workshop had to be scrapped
this week, when not enoguh
registrations were received.
Jean Gibson of the Grand
Bend rec committee says
she is very disappointed that
the workshlp, which was
scheduled to take place Mon-
day through Friday at
Lambton Heritage Museum,
did not materialize.
Mrs. Gibson had arranged
the workshop, which was to
be taught by Florida artist
Betti Paull. Mrs. Paull has
for a long time wanted to
visit Canada, and offered to
teach the classes to help
finance her trip. Mrs. Gib-
son said that 12 students
were needed to make the
class worthwhile, and they
did not have that many peo-
ple sign Ltp.
Mrs. Gibgpn said that
because all the
arrangements had been
made, Mrs. Paull is visiting
her as planned. Mrs. Paull is
going to speak to members
of the local art club In Grand
Bend Wednesday evening
(tonight) at Mrs. Gibson's
home. Anyone else who is in-
terested may attend. Mrs.
Gibson is asking people to
call her at 238-2202.
Although Mrs. Gibson is
very disappointed at the
cancellation of the painter's
workshop, she is going ahead
with plans for night school
classes in Grand Bend this
fall. The classes are set up
by the rec committee, under
the direction of Lambton
College.
Mrs. Gibson said that
there will be a stained glass
course, taught by Wolfgang
Suppan of the Old
Schoolhouse near Dashwood,
a bridge class, which Mrs.
Gibson herself will teach, an
art appreciation course with
lectures and slides, directed
