Juveniles lose
to Wingham
in WOAA play
The Exeter juveniles
dropped a 6-3 decision to
Wingham in Dashwood
Sunday afternoon.
The club will be in action
on two occasions this week.
They meet the Kincardine
juniors tonight, Wednesday
and the Listowel midgets
will provide the opposition,
Sunday.
In Sunday's game
Wingham scored three runs
in each of the second and
third innings and then held
on to gain the victory.
Exeter scored two runs in
the bottom of the third inning
with Pete Tuckey's single
being the only hit.
In the Exeter fifth, Tuckey
singled and came home on a
similar hit from the bat of
Joe Becker. Other base hits
were delivered by Rich
Fletcher, Dave Woodward
and Jeff Fuller.
Sharing pitching duties for
Exeter were Brian Horner,
Jeff Rowe, Jeff Fuller and
Clendon Coombes.

Midgets revenge
earlier defeat
The Exeter midgets
downed their Listowel
counterparts 6-5 in Dash-
wood Sunday in Western
Ontario Athletic Association
play to get even for an
earlier 27-5 loss to the same
club.
In another recent game,
the local midgets defeated
Seaforth by a score of 6-3.
The next action will be
Sunday afternoon in Dash-
wood with Goderich sup-
plying the opposition.
Three runs in the bottom of
the seventh inning produced
Sunday's 6-5 win over
Listowel.
Singles by Dwayne
Laporte, John McAllister
and Jeff Rowe produced the
game winning rally.
The first Exeter run came
in the opening inning when
Colin Tripp walked and
rounded the bases on a single
from the bat of Dave Shaw.
In the Exeter third Dale
Jones drew a base on balls
and was able to score on
singles by Mike Brunzlow,
and Larry Mathers while
Dave Hayter singled and
scored in the fourth.
Dave Shaw and Dwayne
Laporte shared pitching
duties for the winners.
Dwayne Laporte went the
pitching distance in holding
Seaforth to three runs and
two hits over the seven in-
ning route.
Dwayne Laporte's triple
and a single by Brent Atthill
chased the first three Exeter
runs across the plate in the
second frame. In the third
Brian Horner doubled and
John McAllister and Steve
Prout singled to score two
markers.
The final run came in the
sixthwhen Dwayne Laporte
singled and scored on three
consecutive walks.
In the 27-5 loss to Listowel,
Jamie Chaffe picked up the
only Exeter hit , a double to
lead off the fifth inning.

associations annual sports
day was held recently with
32 regular and retired
members and their wives
participating.
It was a very enjoyable
day of golf. horseshoes and
lawn darts.
Mens golf winners were
Wayne Pearce, Gary
Middleton and John Morgan,
while the most honest and
tired prize went to John
Breen.
The ladies golf title was
won by Joyce Morgan while
Cindy Forrest and Jo Ann
Middleton came in second
and third. respectfully.
In the horseshoe competi-
tion Peter McFalls took first
place with ex -chief Irwin
"Bunny'Ford aclose second.
Maddv Wells led the ladies
dart tournament with Mary
Lou Tait and Lisa Frayne
following.
