IRVIN RADER DASHWOOD The rummage sale spon- sored by the Dashwood and Area Medical committee held Saturday, June 27, was a great success. They are very grateful to all who donated. Watch for a later one. Playground news Dashwood playground opened Monday June 29 and will run until August 14. The leaders are Donna Miller, Barb Rader and Nancy Amos. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Rader, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Rader, Heather and Allan were Sun- day guests with Mr. and Sun - , Jim Lynn, Chris and Shawn. The occasion was Chris Lynn's third birthday Melvin Restemayer has returned home from Univer- sity hospital where he un- derwent surgery. They all had a most enjoyable day. HUGH MORENZ SHIPKA Last Thursday evening the Shipka team played at Parkhill against the Parkhill (Expos) with a score of 38 for Parkhill and 18 for Shipka. Another recent game Shipka played at Grand Bend. The score was Grand Bend 33, Shipka 13. Annie Morenz attended a reunion of grade school. high school and Sunday school pupils. Saturday, at the home of Mrs. Minnie Noakes in Hensall. Their teacher of more than 40 years ago, Miss Irene Douglas. of Chateau Gardens. London, who will be 88 years old in September was able to attend. Former pupils came from Goderich, Listowel. Exeter. Hensall, London. Waterloo, Seaforth, Hobokin N.J. and Dashwood, for the afternoon. Personals Congratulations! to Willis Desjardine on winnig first prize at the Fiddlers contest last weekend in Hensall, in the B. division age group 35 to 55. This was his second championship in three years. Mrs. Judy Watt and son Dean. Sandra Hullebusch, Mrs. Mabel Guenther and Karen. Mrs. Nola Ratz and Mrs. Velma Russell, all attended the "Salute to Canada" sponsored by 100 Huntley Street TV series, and hosted by Rev. David Maine, in mid June. at the University of Western On- tario's University College Hill. The cross -Canada tour began in Vancouver on June 1, and is slated to end July 1. in Charlottetown. Cliff and Velma Russell spent the weekend in St Catharines with her mother. Mrs. Edgar Webb. Milton Sweitzer. of Parkwood hospital, London, is coming along well and spent Sunday . at his home here. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Zielman have returned home from their honeymoon holiday in Northern Ontario. Cliff and Velma Russell attended an Eastern Star picnic, Sunday, at Strathroy, and later attended a barbecue at son Tom and Rosanne and girls at Brucefield. Roseanne's parents, Mike • and Alice Schiebel, of Belle River and other members of the Schiebel family, also attend- ed. Harvey. Gloria, Kevin and Dwight Beierling, visited Sunday in Belgrave with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Vincent and Mr. and Mrs. Borden Jenkins. , Ray and Willa Wuerth, Ex- eter, and Mrs. Jean Hunter. of Strathroy visited Sunday evening with John Linda and Rebecca Wuerth. Earl Vincent is a patient in Strathroy hospital. Hugh, Annie and Bill Morenz returned last Wednesday evening from a holiday in B.C. to visit gran - daughter Peri, in Coquitlam. Prior to departure on a Wardair flight from Toron- to, the Morenz's spent an evening in Bramalea visiting cousins. Mrs. Beverley Ford, John Ford and Peter Jackson. While in B.C. they visited in Vancduver with cousins from Alberta attending a convention. Mr. and Mrs. Alfie Baines, of High River, and Mrs. Harry Baines of Calgary. Side trips for the Morenz family were attending Pacific National Exhibition, various parks, including Stanley Park. the aquarium and zoo.
