Special music was provided by the choir, led by their Director, Mrs. Marianne McCaffrey, which' culminated in a round of applause in the -evening, led by the minister, Rev. T. Garnett Hisser. His messages on "The magic of Christmas" in the morning and "The meaning of Christmas" in the evening 'turned 'all thoughts to the. true meaning of the familiar story. - All the music was out- standing, the choir presenting, "Gloria: Gloria: , Christ is born," "Arise. shine for Thy . light . has come" •. and "Gloria in Excelsis" in the morning and a solo tot' Mrs. McCaf- ffey, "O• Thou --that tellest 'good tidings" from the Messiah. In the evening, "Hate you heard?" a dramatic reading was presented by the choir and during the service; a duet, "Be peace on earth" was sung fly Mrs. nal.. Officiating at the piano and organ was Dr. Ralph -Topp. 'The Sacrament of Baptism was administered' at the morning service to Jennifer Jean, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Douglas Rathwell, Kathleen Eliza Nichole, daughter of Mr. & Mrs.' Robert Rathwell and to Kari Lynn, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Marvin Taylor. At the evening. service the Sacrament of -Communion was ad- ministered to nearly 200 people. Lighting the fourth 'Advent candle in the mor- , ning wap Mrs. Hilda Payne, on behalf of the U.C.W. • The church had been - beautifully decorated for the Advent season -and adding to that was a poinsettia donated by the Queensway Nursing Home in appreciation g[ ie interest the U.C.W. shows in the home and its residents., Plants were also donated by & Mrs. R.J. ,McCaffrey • in memory of her _parents. T -A photo May help problem Tuckersmith raises dog ft's goings to- cost Tuckersmith- Township residents more to own a dog • in 1979 if the by-law for the 'proposed new fees for dog licences is approved at the— next council- meeting in January. Councillor Frank Falconer proposed Tuesday raising the fees in the hope that it would be a deterrent from keeping more than one do�gin a household.
