I'm spending the week
between Christmas and New
Years the same way f spend
it egery year — rolling from
one meal to the next and
from one box of goodies to
another. When I use the
word roll..I'm serious: 1 feel
almost as stuffed as, the

me from eating more. .
It's easy to forget last

eating so much this Christ-

about the pounds 111 have to
lose in the New Year. Will

I tried to surprise people
with my gifts this year. but
Any teen -aged nephew
wouldn't believe his parcel
was a stiffly starched shirt
instead of a record.
Even though 1 packed my
niece's earrings in a large
box and added extra weight.
she still guessed correctly.
Maybe it's because for the
last three months she's been
telling me to give her
nothing but silver earrings
