A skit was enacted at "Toronto International The Candy Makers • BY IRENE BRAND Stephen Central • On the first of December all tip elves and Mrs. Claus gathered in the kitchen to talk overlhe Christmas' plan. This plan Was the•one'of all the Christmas - candy they were going to make for the children". They had planned to get the ifhgredients �.. [[or the candy -Banes, ebtn6es with, different flavors and squares. The ingredients were to be at their'place by .December 5. ' Mrs. Claus was to get the ingredients when she went shopping •and then they would be all ready to start to be finished the night before Christmas. Mrs. Claus went shopping on the fourth of December and brought back all the things they needed to make the goods. When the ` elves were making the candy - canes the,kitchen air was filled with a sweet smell. The elves then made the cookies -and following that they made the squares. By December the twenty- second all the treats were ready _except 100 •candy - canes, Mrs. Claus -would- have to' go and get some more ingredients at the store. When she got there there the store was closed and she couldn't go back on the 24th because those ilays the store was closed all. day. She told the• elves this but they all just stared because the first time she went she didn't get enough ingredients for the candy -canes, which she should hare. The elves didn't know what - to do about the situation they were in., Many times they tried to think of a store that might have the special ingredients for`the"Randy- canes brit they knew that only one stare did.
