Exeter pick
standing
committees
Exeter council named one
new standing committee at
their inaugural meeting this
week. 11 will deal with ,in-
dustrial promotion.
Mayor Derry Boyle will
chair the new committee
and will be joined by in-
coming Councillors Marilyn
Williamson and Jay
Campbell.
The batter pair cited the
need for more industrial
growth in their election
campaigns.
Campbell questioned the
advisability of having only
council members on the new
committee, suggesting it
should include other citizens
interested in attracting in-
dustry.
.Boyle said it would be
possible to add members
later if council wishes.
Another new job was also
created due to the establish-
ment of the Huron County
police committee which will
deal with the new com-
munications system. Mayor
Boyle was named Exeter's
representative. Each of the
five county towns will have
one appointed represen-
tative along with the police
chief.
Councillor Lossy Fuller

mittees, property and parks
