Marty Becker fired the first with assists going to Vanos and Chalmers while John Nvenhuis scored the second and assists went to Brian Gilpin and Marty Becker.. With only 29 seconds left. Steve Bedour of Zurich clos- ed the game scoring on a pass from Pat Bedard. Colonials get one victory The Grand Bend Colonials split even in two South Huron intermediate hockey league games this week. Friday. the colonials squeezed out a-7-6 win over Kettle Point in Zurich and Sunda they dropped a 3-2 decision to the North Middlesex Merchants of Parkhill The only action for the Grand Bend club this week is Friday night when they Mai; host in a return game with the same Parkhill team at the Zurich arena at 8:30 pm. Against Kettle Point, the Colonials jumped into a 2-1 lead at the end of the first period and were able to maintain the one goal margin to the end: Dan Stanlake scored both first period Grand Bend goals Pete Gill and Tom Anderson assisted on both. Luke George replied for Kettle Point. - In the second period Paul Maguire registered two Grand Bend goals. One was on an unassisted effort and the other on a pass from Dan Stanlake Tom Anderson scored the third GB goal on a three-way effort' with Paul Maguire and Rob Lovie. Colonials moved into the lead early in the third period on goals by Dan Stanlake on a solo dash and Paul Maguire from Larry Laye and Stanlake.
