ARTHUR HODGINS CLANDEBOYE Dorothy and Peter Nott were hosts for the Biddulph- Lucan Public School staff dinner party Friday evening, held at their home north of Clandeboye. Group 4 of Clandeboye Women's Institute prepared the smorgasbord dinner, Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Scott entertained their family Saturday evening.. Attending • were Mr and Mrs. Jim Scott. Dean and Brad, Mr. and Mrs Jack Neaman, Ricky and Sandra of Ailsa Craig, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bond, Jamie and Jeff of Lucan, Betty. Ralph and David Pritchard of London, Ted Vanek and Bob Smith. Mrs. Thomas Campbell and Mrs. Gertie Nethercott, St. Thomas visited with their long time friend. Mrs. Ethel Donaldson on Monday. Miss' Mary D. Hornall, Grand Haven, Michigan and her friend, Marilyn Gannon, Rochester, Michigan visited with her Hodgins cousins at Shadys,ide Farm, Saturday. Mr: and Mrs. Eddie Cunningham, Woodstock spent the week end with their aunt and uncle, Lucille and mold Blake. ' son and Jack Hodgert. Mrs. -Judith 'Parker read the ad- dress and Heather Hodgert of London presented the gifts. Lunch was then serv- ed. Guests were present from Chatham, Dashwood, Komoka, London, Parkhill, Seaforth and the surroun- ding area. Bridal Shower Tuesday evening about 60 ladies and girls met at the church for a bridal shower for Nancy Richardson. Mrs. William Rohde welcomed everyone' and asked each one to introduce an tell something about themselves. A mubical number with Bren- da Ballantyne at the piano ahtd her sister Wendy sing- ing. Mrs. Alvin Passmore played the bridal chorus and Mrs-. Barry Miller escorted Nancy underneath a decorated arch. Miss Brenda Hodgert spent the weekend at Stokes Bay with her biology class from South Huron District High School, Exeter. A large number of people from this community attended Friday night and Saturday at Exeter Fair. Congratulations to Miss Brenda Ballantyne first runner up to the Fair Queen. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Hargreaves were at Ontario WUnited Church, Clinton tday evening when. the Moderator Dr. George Tut- tle was the guest speaker at their 100th anniversary. The Thank Offering meeting of the United Church Women will be held Monday evening, October 2 at 8 p.m. Handicrafts from Bangladesh and Haiti will be shown at the meeting.
