What!s legal'
By BILL McNUTT
It is nearly impossible to -
know what is legal and what
is not. This is currently true
if you are a;,,gun owner or
handloader. Our federal
government has felt only
passed many new gun laws,
blit also, )quietly passed
many new laws covering
ammunition and- reloading
supplies. If you are a
reloader or gun owner
(especially black powders
you should contact the
Department of Mines.
Energy and Resources for
their latest Explosives
bulletin number 8. •
It will fully inform you as
to how much powder you are
now allowed to have in your
possession, where and how
you may keep it and what
your storekeeper. and you,
are response le tg\do upon
your purchase of powder and
primers, w ch are also
covered . It also ex-

clean u hen not loading.
Under Se . 28 121- "Custom
loading a d reloading for
sale may my be undertaken
with the permission of the
Chief • Inspector of
Explosiv s and provided...".
There are many more
conditions so those • of you
who sell your handloads (or
transfer them in any way)
could find yourself in deep
trouble. .
The eight page booklet also
explains the new laws which
have cta ailed down on what
,our dealers are allowed to
stock and sell. Not only are
these laws giving us legal
problems , but they are
causing the price of our
loading supplies to rise.
