Family service •
budget depleted
After a busy summer
providing extra services to
area children. the (Huron
County Family' and
Children's Services is feel-
ing the pinch of a depleted
bank account.
A special benefit account
of voluntary donations pays
for extra services for
children in troubled homes.
This summer 95 children
were sent to camp, 65 more
than last year. Camp costs
came to about 13,000,
decreasing the account to
111,000. Funds were also
used to take about 20
children under the age of
seven on day excursions.
Director J.V. Penn said
these services to children
who still live at home are es-
sential to keep families
together.
