On a split vote, Lucan
council Tuesday' night. ap-
proved a request from the
local. Lions club to apply for
a family dining licence to be
used during the 1971 Lucan
Fair. -
Councellor Larry Hotson
who is a member of the Lions
----and on--the-Community
Centre board moved the
resolution. He was supported
by reform Steeper, Harry
Wraith voted • against the
motion. The fourth coun-
cillor, Gary McFalls was
absent.

of water from the village's
water system.
A survey taken over a
recent 12 day period by

pumping of 2,654,300 gallons -

22 to July 4 amounts to .
221,200 gallons per day. of
-this amount, an average of
13,000 gallons per day were
sold to out-of-town
customers.

purchased from the tower.
Councillor Norm Steeper

writing appears to be on -the
wall. We need to increase the
price. It could range from 75
to 100 percent."
Reeve Ivan Hearn said the
average consumption for
domestic use in other
municipalities ranges from
65 to 70 gallons per day. The
currentfl.ucan average in-
cluding tower sales is about
99 gallons per day.
Hearn continued, "we,will
find a very substantial
saving in water this fall and
,viinter at the Lucan Com-
munity Zentre. The old
compressors were water
cooled while the new system
uses brine.'

Buddies Groups of the Lucan
senior citizens club com-
pleted their year's activities
Thursday -afternoon when
they enjoyed a pot luck
supper in their clubrooms in
the Masonic Hall.
President Gordon Hotson
welcomed another. new
member Mrs. Ed Armstrong
of Ctandeboye, whose
husband joined the club last
week. Mr. Hotson also an-
nounced that parking by club
members would be per-
mitted, Thursdays only, in
the Nrea behind the Hall.

1978 social convener, Donna
Hindmarsh, for the co-
operation of everyone in

turn arrived. No member
was asked more than twice
during the year.

quite solvent and would be in

The 'president thanked, his
1977-78 executive and in
particular his vice-
president, Maude Hodgins,
for carrying on for him while
he was so ill during the
winter. He also announced
the pork barbecue to be held
at Mitple Lodge School,
Saturday. July 15. The

was held at the Legion Hall
