Save most where you
use most
Most families use as much electricity in a month to dry- be
laundry as they do in two years of vacuuming the rugs Or in
seven -years of electric shaving
That kind of comparison makes it easy to spot the heavy users
of electric power in your home Mayor appliances like clothes
dryers. refrigerator -freezers ranges. a;r condit+oners hot water
heaters and furnace fans can waste hundreds of kilowatt hours
each month unless they are used with care
(A kilowatt-hour is one thousand watts used
for one hour, For example ten 100 -watt bulbs
burning for an hour )
Waste is costly Try to involve your whole
family in a campaign tor the wise use of electricity.
particularly in the areas of heaviest use
