The Exeter Times-Advocate, 1975-05-01, Page 17 (2)Registration set
for kindergarten
Registration for kindergarten
and•junior kindergarten is taking
place this week at St. Patrick's
School, any day 9 to 3:30, with the
deadline, Friday, May 2.
You may register your child for
kindergarten if he or she is 5 on or
before December 31 and for
junior kindergarten if 4 on or
before December 31.
It is unfortunate that the date
has been set back from March 31
as was the case last year, as
several children who have been
attending the cooperative nur-
sery would have been eligible for
kindergarten.
Penny sale
at St. Pat's
Students at St. Patrick's Lucan
under the direction of Mrs. Fred
Grimminck and members of the
staff are very busy preparing for
the annual Penny Sale which will
be held in the gym on May 15,
commencing at 7:30 p.m. sharp.
Articles seem to become more
beautifully made each year as
more experience is gained in
crafts.
Chances are being sold on a
liquid embroirdery quilt,
featuring birds, a lovely afghan,
needlepoint picture, hooked rug
and a toy chest in the form of a
bench.
The door prize will be a hand-
crafted lamp, made by John
Ziler, Grade 8 teacher, featuring
driftwood.
There are literally hundreds of
articles ready for the sale and as
the name implies the tickets are
25 for 25c - a penny each!
Interesting displays
at St. Pat's open house
Those who were unable to take
advantage of "Open House"
during Education week at St.
Patrick's School missed seeing
some most interesting and
beautiful displays, particularly in
the junior grades.
The principal, Mr. K. J.
Schenkel, was well pleased with
the number of parents who took
advantage of the opportunity of
sitting in on classes which in-
cluded their own children.
