Local euchre and bowling head Elimville community activities By CATHY COOPER On Monday, at Elimville Hall an euchre party was held. There were six tables in play. The prize winners were; ladies high, Blanche Johns; ladies low, Dorothy Elford; men's high, Floyd Cooper, men's low, Harry Webber. Refreshments- were served. The next card party is to be in two weeks. Several girls of the community attended the CGIT howling party. After the bowling party they went back to the Thames Road Church for games and lunch. Mr. & Mrs. Philip Johns returned home from a three week holiday in Florida. Mr. & Mrs. Edward Johns returned home from a two week holiday cruise along the Mexican coast. Karen and Kelly Johns stayed with Mr. & Mrs.Gilbert Johns and Larry of Exeter. islr. & Mrs. Marry Jaques and girls of Zion, Mr. & Mrs.Russell Morley of Exeter and 11rs. Ken Lovie of Shipka visited with Mr. & Mrs. Floyd Cooper and family. Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Routley spent the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Ronnie and family at Brantford. Mr. & Mrs. Don Kyle and family visited with Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Cooper on Sunday. Mr. & Mrs. Ross Skinner at- tended the Fair Board Con- vicention at the Royal York. Mrs. Jake Hovius stayed at the Skinners'residence while Mr. & Mrs. Ross Skinner were in Toronto. Verda Kellett spent Sundaywith Mr. & Mrs. George Kellett and family. John Batten attended the Good Road Convention in Toronto. Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Cooper visited Mr. & Mrs. Doug Johnston ,and family of Lucan to celebrate Shelley Johnston's birthday. WILLIAM CORNISH Lucan United Church was the setting on February 15 for the wedding of Jane Louise Lockyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Lockyer, Lucan, and William Douglas Cornish, son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Cornish, RR 1 Lucan. Sister of the bride, Joan Lockyer was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Johan Neal and Christina Cornish of London. The best mon was Glen Neal. The ushers for the wedding were Bruce, Bob and Brian Cornish and Bill Lockyer. The wedding supper was held in the Luton CE Building, with dancing at the arena. The couple will reside in Luton. Mrs. Elmer Powe, Mrs. Russell Wilson favored with a solo "Amazing Grace". Mrs. Verna Hicks gave a talk, "Satisfaction, Happiness and Contentment." Mrs. June Essery opened the business with a poem. "Recipe for a Good Day.".An invitation to Crediton UCW meeting April 3 was accepted. On March Tat 8 p.m. The World Day of Prayer service will be held in our church with Zion UCW' as guests. Plans were made for a 'Royal Doulton' china show to he held April 23, 8 p.m. at South Huron District High school. The bus trip has been set for July 16 to Elmira area. The UCW will take charge pf the 50th anniversary service on June 8. A report was given for the Ability Fund from Centralia.
