for Mrs. Murray Glanville. a re-
cent bride, at the home of Mrs.

camps during the summer where
handicapped adults can enjoy
vacation. The March of Dimes
acts as an advocate on behalf of
disabled adults to insure they
receive any and all benefits to
which they are entitled.
Vocational training and job
placement assistance are among
the services provided to
physically disabled adults. The
March of Dimes provides wheel
chairs, artificial`v' limbs,
respirators and aids ' to daily
living.
The March of Dimes expansion
of concern now includes all
adults with a physical disability.
Accidents, strokes, age, diabetes
and arthritis increase the
numbers of physically disabled
adults annually. One in every
seven adults suffers from
physical disability, one million in
Ontario.
When was the last time you had
a polio shot? The March of Dimes
Ability Fund reminds us that
everyone should be immunized
Former resident
passes away
Mrs. Marion Jane Thorneloe,
formerly of Goderich and Hensall
passed away at St. Joseph's
Hospital, London on Sunday,
January 26 in her 45th year.
She was a daughter of the late
Mr. & Mrs. W. A. MacLaren, of
Goderich formerly of Hensall and
spent her earlier years here
where she received her
education.
Surviving are two daughters
Mrs. Winston (Anne) Powell,
Seaforth and Mary at home.
- Funeral service was held on
Wednesday January 29 from the
Stiles Funeral Home, Goderich.
Interment in Helsa11 Union
Cemetery.

girls receive piano awards

returned from a week's holiday
snowmobiling at Huntsville.
The Curling Club held a most
successful dance at the local
arena on Saturday evening. The
"Country Companions" supplied
the musicfordancing.A draw was
made on tickets sold on an afghan
which was won by Mrs. R.
Collins, Brucefield.
Ken MacLean, who was a
patient in South Huron Hospital,
Exeter returned to his home this
week.
Mrs. Clarence Smillie, who was
a patient in South Huron
Hospital, Exeter, returned to her
home.
Mr. & Mrs. Arthur Poole, Eric
and Craig of Chatham were
Saturday guests with Mr. & Mrs.
Sim Roobal.
Mrs. Anthony Van- Dyke of
Three Rivers, Quebec, who has
been a house guest for ten days
with Mr. & Mrs. Sim Roobal,
returned with Mr. & Mrs. Poole to
Chatham before leaving for
Quebec. While in Ontario, Mrs.
Van Dyke visited in Wyoming,
Goderich, Seaforth and Wood-
stock.
Margaret Hyde of London
spent the weekend with her
parents Mr. & Mrs. Harvey
Hyde.
Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Volland
visited over the weekend with
their son and daughter in-law Mr.
& Mrs. Gerald Volland and fami-
ly in Stratford.
Mr. & Mrs. Robert Keyes of
Grand Bend were recent visitors
with Mr. & Mrs. Harold Parker.
Ken MacLean has been receiv-
ing treatment in South Huron
Hospital, Exeter.
Rev. W. D. Jarvis conducted
service in Carmel Presbyterian
Church on Sunday. The annual
Congregational meeting will be
held on Friday January 31st at
7:30 p.m.

Girls receive honours
At recent examinations of the
Royal Conservatory of Music, Jill
McLellan passed her Grade 2
Theory with honours, and Bar-
bara McCurdy passed her
Preliminary Theory
Examinations with honours.
Jill is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Ken McLellan of Kippen,
and Barbara is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Don McCurdy of
Hensall. Both girls are pup4ls of
Miss Greta Lammie.
Twilight Spring Fair and im-
plement show which will be held
at the Hensall fairgrounds and
arena on Tuesday, June 24.
The annual- meeting of the
sponsoring body, the Hensall
South Huron Agricultural Society
was held Thursday at the IOOF
rooms in Hensall.
William Coleman was elected
president to replace the retiring
Grant McGregor. The vice-
presidents are Jack Kinsman and
Bruce Rathwell. The secretary -
treasurer is Mrs. Grant
McGregor.
Mrs. McGregor replaces Peter
McNaughton • who held the
position for the past 15 years. To
show appreciation for the many
years of service, a Board past
president John Corbett presented
McNaughton with a pen and
pencil set.
Boys and girls from six
townships in the district are now
feeding calves to be shown at the
1975 fair.
The following directors have

United Church notes
Rev. Don Beck preached on the
sermon topic "Has anyone seen
God lately?" at the service of
worship in Hensall United Church
on Sunday morning. The choir
sang the anthem "The Glory of
God," accompanied on the organ
by Mrs. Turkheim.
