Sometime Monday night or early. Tuesday morning on De- cember 14 or 15, 1988 thieves entered almost 30 new vans at John Cullen Chcv Olds LTD in Wingham. They smashed the vent windows on the vans and then opened the doors. Twenty- five windows were smashed, causing $1,450 in damage. Once in the vans, the thieves quickly went to work and stole all the spare tires. The tires were Uniroyal Tiger Paw Plus, P225 - 75R15, mud and snow, .on -rally rims. Three first period goals were scored by Mark -Bell and Brock Weiss. Weiss came back in the third period with two morc goals to chalk up- a hat trick for the game. United Church Hensall United held services on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, -including musical programs from the junior and senior choirs, a solo from Stratford Boys Choir member David Reath, and a piano and organ duct. The Zion Lutheran .Church Christmas Eve children's service was directed by Pastor Larry Stojkovich and Cindy Harnather. The theme was taken from the U.S. Boors head festival but the setting was changed to Colonial Canada and the 50 children were dressed in Colonial costume. They presented the contrast between how v'e cerebrate Christmas and its true meaning. Personals Don and Maida Gaiscr, Fayc and Allan, were joined on Christmas day by Alma Richards, London, Paul Pletsch, Kitchener as guests. George Tiernan spent four hours at home Christmas Day on leave from South Huron hospital. Harry Hayter is home from University Hospital and is regaining his health.
