EXETER The Music Depart-
ment of South Huron District 'High
School held its Christmas program
on Wednesday, December 14. A
large audience was entertained by a
variety of musical numbers. The
program featured vocal and instru-
mental groups, as well as smaller
vocal ensemble.
-The concert opened with "the'
Rookies", the grade 9 instrumental
class. Director Bob Robilliard is to
be commended for taking these stu-
dents this far in three short months.
This was the first performance for
these students, and both they and
the audience enjoyed themselves.
A vocal quartet gave a pleasing
rendition of the old favorite "Silver
Bells". This was followed by a solo
by Wayne Scotchmer., a delightful
piece called "Christmas Traveller"
by the Irish Rovers..1 really enjoyed
. this selection.
Then the program; moved on to
the Concert Band. This group is
really coming along! The Beethov-
en piece was very secure. What a -
nice opener. The other selections
were tight and enjoyable. 1 could
not help but notice Heather Wcst-
the program.
The evening concluded with the
Concert Band presenting a Christ-
mas Medley and the combined en-
sembles performing . "Felin Navi-
dad", a lovely ending to the
program.
Congratulations students and Mr.
Robilliard for a very enjoyable
