The coun- cil was bouncing from.7 p.m. Last Tuesday night until 7 a.m. the next morning to help raise money for need kids this Christmas. In all they raised almost $1,400 for the Christmas Bureau. 'tis a happy Skaters get new badges By Susan Hartman IIENSALL - A test day in Clin- ton on December 7 saw four Hen- sall figure skaters show that their skating is up to snuff. Jenny Smale passed her prelimi- nary dance test with a Dutch waltz and Leann Consist, Melissa Masse, Dana Cooper, and Teresa Haugh all passed their junior bronze dance. Other skaters in the club have also gained new badges recently. "111is includes Novice 1 skaters Ja- son Corbett, Dawn Corbett, and R1elissa VanBclle. Amy Zwart and Tina Dayman have their badges for Dance 5 and Dance 4, respectively. Melissa Masse is now in Figure 1 and Kelly Dayman and Michelle Zwart are in Novice 3. Elementary skaters now include Becky . Corbett, and Nicole McGuire. New basic skaters arc Melissa VanBelle, Lucas Bruxer, Lindsay Knight, Becky Corbett, Adam Russell and Nicole McGuire. United Church Hensall United Church lit their fourth and final candle of Advent on Sunday and a Christmas Rvc Com- munion Service will be held Satur- day at 7:30 p,.m. The annual meeting for the church will be January 17 and will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a pot -luck dinner. Ilensall seniors Forty seniors gathered at the United Church last Tuesday for an annual Christmas banquet. A short meeting followed at the I.O.O.F. hall where a discussion led by Ernie Chipchase noted that the Hensall group is designated to organize horseshoe pitching and euchre for next June's Senior's Games. Pearl McKnight and Walter Davis were well behind Kyle with scores of 253 and 252. Six -game winners were John Pep- per, Dorothy Brintnell and Alf Ross with scores of 375, 371, and 290 respectively. Shuffleboard will be hack right after Christmas, but on Wednesday December 28; and on the Wednes- day following New Year's Day.
