Seaforth penetrated early, on a quick.goal from Kelly Rau. It took two minutes for Exet- • ;I- to organize and Heather Davies ,Ifd one by Marie Cronyn, the Sea- Iorth goalie. • Both goaltenders were kept very busy throughout the whole game. with" 1:15 remaining in. the first halt, Seaforth's Kathy Devereaux got one by Exeter's goaltender Jana Webster. ; . Second half -scoring started with --Seaforth's Rau at 13:05. Next. Sonya Lawrence scored an unassist- ed goal at 11:35. ,. After many .end-to-end plays Exet- er's Danielle Miners. slammed one home to tic the game with 4:21 to play. • . :•Ty'o minutes later, Miners scored the game -winning goal. Amy Edward, Teresa • Stire, Judi Wilson, Jo -Dee Rowe, Leeann Fos- ter, Cheryl Wein all helped in the scoring plays. The Exeter Petites resume their regular season January 7 in Mitch- ell. The team is going into the new year -with a record of eight wins, two ties and no losses with four games remaining in their regu- lar season. On the 27 and 28 of December the girls travel to Stratford for a tournament. It was certainly a close match and the line of women teachers added some excitement to the game in their at- tempts to outsmart their skidents. Last Wednesday, Exctcr defeated Lucan .2-1 at the South Huron Rec Ccntrc and on Saturday they beat St. Marys by the same count. - - Scan McCann opened the scoring for ;Exeter :against Lucan with a fir. t-pericxl goal from Jcff Lingard • and Ryan Stuart. • .Lucan tied the game but Exctcr took the lead for good on Stuart's unassisted goal later in the second. Kints played thc entire game against Si. Marys, stopping 27 of 28 shots.
