Twas the Night
Before Hunting
By Michelle Louie
Gr. 7, Stephen Central
Twas the night before hunting
And all through the house
everything was hiding even the
mouse
The guns sat by the door with care
in hope that Deer soon would be
there
The huntcrs were all nestled all
snug in their beds
With visions of prize antlers
dancing about their heads.

Bring Me Life
By Christie Bedard
Precious Blood
Heavy snowdrifts are plentiful
on every young tree.
Evergreens, not so colourful
till spring is about
White snowy hills
Surround every tree in the woods,
and the winter wildlife
runs free
Christmas trees await quietly
in those cold times,
Hidden, by God's own doings.
Will they remember me
after all this time?
I'm something you put in your
house
near Christmas time.
I've been standing here for so long
Sunlight seeps through the blue -

I glisten with the snow
Melting down my face.
God calls to me from above!
Hidden are the creatures
kept warm in hiding
Clearly now arc the features
of God's own work!
Someone spots me!
I plead with all my heart and soul
Please, please bring me life.
They decorated me with glowing
lights.
I feel real
I danced into the moonlight
For my wish has been fulfilled.
For I understood a very last detail
He calls me to be a Christmas
tree,
The best one I can be!!
