Not a creature was stirring, not even
the kitties ball of yarn.

Tis the season to be jolly,,
Everone is decorating with holly.
Listen to the jingle of the bell,
There is something in the air 1 can
smell. '
Maybe it's the smell of fresh baked
crakes
Look at this snowflake
There is something
I really like,
It's to ride my brother's
Brand new bike.

In hopes that farmer George' would
soon be there.
The puppies were nestled all snug
in their basket beds,
While visions of milk bones danced
in their heads.
And mommy cow in the s traw and
daddy cow in the hay,
Had just wished they could take a
long, long holiday.

such a clatter, •
I sprang from the hay stack to see
what was the matter.
Away to the milk house I flew like
a flash,
Tore open the door and threw up a

The heat lamp was warming and
shined with a glow,
Gave a luster of loving to objects

When, what to my wondering eyes

Christmas Adventure
By David Marshell
Gr. 3, Exeter Public
Hello my name is "Dare Devil"
well, my elf friends call me that.
I've come to tell you of the year
Rudolph was sick and a curse was
put over the North Pole! All of the
reindeer were shrunk so small they
would fit in a stocking. But one day.
an elf found another reindeer that
had fell down the mountain. It got
its nose stuck in a gingerbread
house. It was then that the little elf
noticed it was the house that be-
longed to the Grinch. He was the
one who put the curse on the North
Pole.
Luckily enough they escaped just
in the nick of time. When the
shrunken reindeer ate the ginger-
bread, the (reindeers) grew up again.
It cured Rudolph and lifted the
curse. Santa was able to deliver the
presents. The cnd.

Miss Claus Saves
Christmas

One Christmas eve Santa was
sick with the measles so he
couldn't deliver the toys. But' Miss
Claus said, "I could bring the toys
to the children."
"O.K.," said Santa, "but 1 have
to say their names, right? Their
names are Dasher, Dancer, Prancer
and Vixen, Comet, Cupit, Donner,
Blitzen."
So she went out and said, "Let's
go you guys."
So off they went in the sky.
First we go to Bill's Miss Claus'
said to herself. Only one drop off
and I'm tired. So after 3 hours she
made 195 billion drop offs so far.
Only 5 billion - more to go? After
half an hour she had 1 billion
houses to go.She was tired so after
30 minutes she made all the drop
offs.
She went home and took care of
Santa. •

Christmas
By Linda ,Jacob
Grade 6, Precious Blood
Christmas is a time of laughter and
cheer,
When Santa Claus rides through
the sky with his reindeer,
With Christmas trees and orna-
ments
and stars on top of tees,
and children all laughing and
shouting with glee,
With Mary and Joseph and
the nativity scene,
and Christmas tees decorated
with ornaments of green,
Stockings being hong up in
wait of Santa Claus, •
To hear Olt hoofs come running
on their shivering little paws,
The snow-covered pine trees
standing straight and tall,
.and Santa shouting to everyone,
"Merry Christmas to one and all."

Alf Saves Christmas
By Geoff Mayer
Gr. 4, Exeter Public
One night Alf was decorating the
house when the doorbell rang. It
was a parcel. The box was black and
square. As soon as Alf opened it a
puff of smoke came out. It was the
devil. He said that he was going to
destroy Christmas. Alf had'to think
up a plan. He figured if he could
lead the devil to Santa he would
take care of it. He took him to San-
ta and Christmas was saved.
