meeting of .the new council, it was
. decided that' former, reeve Harold
Green should'. not finish out his
term on the South Western Ontario
Travel Association, which was to
terminate in May. :r

since Green was no longer oncoun-
cil he couldn't deal with keeping the
minutes and reporting back to coup=
ell and the Chamber of Commerce
about the SWOTA Meetings might
also pose'a problem.

members will !attend a seminar de-
signed specifically for new council
members and what to look for in
municipal government. Sharen -felt
it would be very beneficial for them
to take part in the seminar.
Councilor John McDowell and
Kadlecik will attend the seminar in
London February 17-1.8 and Mitch-
ell will attend the. same seminar in.
Wallacebing sometime next month.
It was also decided that Sharen
will attend a seminar in Kitchener
February 22-23 with the focts on
affordable housing-. Sharen said lack
of affordable housing is prominent
in Grand: Bend and -everything
should be :done to see if more could
become available. •

Council heard letters from con -
corned citizens on Oak Street in
Grand Bcnd saying -that they would
like -some "hidden entrance" signs
placed'on their Street because of po-"'-
tcntially dangerous traffic situations
and for public safety.. Council
agreed to purchase more signs from,
the Ministry of -Transport to 'go
along'with their request.

reindeer or snowmen. "The Word
Made Flesh, who Dwelt Among
Us," remains here with us, and we
must try to be people who radiate

readings by Eleanor Durie and. a

chapter on "Hospitality in thc Early,.
Church: In Paul's letters to the
Churches; he writes of men and
wOinen woo shared their homes
with many edrly Christians; and
showed true hospitality. Thc ladies
. also discussed ways they could be
more hospitable toward others.
A praycrwas offered' for'siclt and
shut-ins, and a time of Christmas
fellowship was enjoyed by 18 ladies
as they enjoyed some delicious hol-
iday treats.
Doris Peebles was the discussion
leader for the day. This was the last
meeting for the- Bible study group
until the new year, when discus-
sions begin again on January 3,

'having a prOhlem, with contractors
leaving garbage -like stoves, and
couches behind. and garhage like
that is.taking up a lot of space at
the landfill site. He, also said cin-
, tractors arc' having trouble finding -

to the site to dump off their trash.
He suggested the. public works de- -
partmcnt .invest in a sophisticated
•tWWo=way radio systefn to- keep in
touch with :the municipal office in
case of • any emergency-,- subject to
council's approval. Council thought .

Council also decided it will dis-

vacuum sweeper truck -that is avail-
able from the. town: of Leamington.
The vacu-sweeper can clean the,
street and leaves much factor than is
presently done in the village by
walking , up and down the Street
with a broom.

what to do if council is interested in
purchasing it and so he can let
Leamington know so they can take
the vac u -sweeper off the market.
Concerns were raised over ,the
condition of thc.vchicic bycouncil,
but Markham said the same type Of
